Details on Misuse of money of ZP and the departments comes under ZP.

  1. Helipad for Public use has been sanctioned to Madikeri. The project is  worth 10 lacks, Which would be constructed and maintained by PWD Authorities and any person can use this facility. 
  2. Green Signal from the Government has been received for the Mini Airport at Kushalnagar. A proper comprehensive study work is being undertaken, followed by actual construction work.
  3. Sri P.B.Uthaiah, Second Division Assistant, Taluk Office Madikeri is kept under Suspension with effect from 16-03-2007 for dereliction of duties.
  4. Proposal worth  rupees 1.5crore is  sent  for Sound and Light Show at  Fort, Madikeri, for approval. 
  1. After considering all the options and discussing with the concerned, proposal for construction of District Office complex at K.Badaga, in survey nos. 86/3B, 87/1B, 87/1A of 5.18 acres was submitted to Revenue Department, along with other department details. The project has been approved  and financial allocation would be made in the forthcoming  budget.
  2. Proposal for construction / up gradation of Roads
    1. Shirangala - Kudige portion amounting to 17 crores.
    2. Makutta - Virajpet road amounting to 23 crores has been submitted to KRDCL for taking up these works immediately.
      In addition to the above, for metalling of all Zilla Panchayath roads, proposal amounting to 84 crores and similarly for maintenance of existing PWD and ZP roads, proposal amounting to 15 crores has been sent to Government.


  3. To take care of elephant menace problem in District, Proposal has been submitted to Government for
    1.  
      1. New electrical fencing amounting to 2.45 crores.
      2. Maintenance of existing electrical fencing proposal amounting 19.5 lacs.
    2.  
      1. For the construction of new bunkers proposal worth of 303.75 lacs.
      2. Maintenance of existing bunkers proposal worth of 48.15 lacs.


  4. Proposal for construction of over bridge/subway across Mysore - Mangalore state highway for district hospital Madikeri amounting to 95 lacs was  sent to the Government. The  KRDCL (Karnataka Road Development Corporation Limited) has taken the responsibility to complete the work.


  5. A proposal for repair and renovation of four muzrai temples amounting to 1.03 crores has been sent to Government. The temples are

    bullet Irupu Devasthana.


  6. A proposal for 3.26 crores has been sent to the Government for the development of number of tourism places which includes
    1. Madikeri
      bulletDevelopment of Rifle range at Madikeri.
      bulletBeautification of Rajaseat.
      bulletDevelopment and Beautification of Abbi water fall and Chelavara Water fall.
      bulletDrinking water and toilet facility at Nalaknadu Place.
      bulletDevelopment of Raja Gaddige.
    2. Somwarpet
      bulletDevelopment of Mallali water fall.
      bulletDevelopment of Malleshwara temple and approach.
      bulletDevelopment of Honnamma lake.
      bulletDevelopment of road and bridge leading to Dubare.
      bulletDevelopment of Pushpagiri Peak.
    3. Virajpet

    Out of the proposed, rupees 2.49 crores has been approved by the Tourism Department.

  7. A Fresh Proposal has been submitted for the agriculture university (Agriculture Department) land, to Principal Secretary Agriculture department, for shifting some 4 acres of land to the Madikeri municipality to be utilized for the private Bus stand as well as Taxi stand and Auto stand.

    In case of approval, Construction of Private Bus stand - Taxi and Auto Stand would be taken up by Madikeri Municipality under KMRP (Karnataka Municipality Reform Project).


  8. Proposal for the renovation of District Stadium as well as swimming pool has been submitted to Government along with the plan estimates amounting to a total of 4.4 crores. Proposal includes pavilion / Gallery construction, Proper unique drainage for the ground, All round fencing, repair of existing Gallery etc.


  9. The construction work of “Samudaya Bhavan” at Thithimathi was entrusted to Karnataka Land Army Corporation under MPLAD Scheme in the year 2003-04 and 2004-05.  The work has not been completed sofor.  In this regard, a Show Cause Notice was issued to Sri Gangadhar, Assistant Director of KLAC to remit the amount with interest which was released for the above work and also to explain why the work should not be shifted to other agency. In response to the above notice, the concerned has given an undertaking to complete the work by the end of March 2007.


  10. On 04-01-2007 the District in-charge Secretary accompanied by the Deputy Commissioner had inspected Hakathur, Kanthur Murnad and Maragod Grama Panchayts with respect to Public Distribution System. During the inspection it was found that there were lot of mistakes regarding distribution of ration cards and also related grievances were not attended properly. Due to this Sri Chowdaiah, Food Inspector, Madikeri Taluk Office was kept under suspension with immediate effect. And the other concerned officials namely, Smt.K.C.Rathi Kumari, Sri H.R.Babu, Sri T.R.Keshav, Secretaries of respective Grama Pachayats and Sri P.N.Nagendra, Village Accountant Hakathur Circle, Sri G.T.Sathish Village Accountant Maragodu Circle, Sri Francis Lobo Village Accountant Kanthur Murnad Circle, Sri Uthaiah Food Inspector, Smt.Kunjamma Food Sheristedar Taluk Office Madikeri and Sri K.G.Ravi Nodal Officer of the above mentioned Grama Panchayats were given show cause notice for their negligence and dereliction of duties. After  following due procedures, respective punishments were imposed:

i.Sri Chowdaiah, Food Inspector, Madikeri Taluk Office has been revoked from suspension followed by cut in  two increments with out cumulative effect

ii.Smt.K.C.Rathi Kumari, secretary of  Hakathur Grama Panchayat, Sri P.N.Nagendra, Village Accountant Hakathur Circle and Smt.Kunjamma Food Sheristedar Taluk Office Madikeri  have been punished with cut in one increment without cumulative effect.

iii.  Sri H.R.Babu, secretary of Maragod grama Panchayat, Sri T.R.Keshav, Secretary of  Kanthur Murnad  grama Panchayat, Sri G.T.Sathish Village Accountant Maragodu Circle, Sri Francis Lobo Village Accountant Kanthur Murnad Circle and Sri Uthaiah Food Inspector, Taluk Office Madikeri  have been imposed with censure.

iv.Sri K.G.Ravi Nodal Officer,  has been issued  with warning notice.
